IMMAGINI DAL MONDO IN CASTELLO

Del soggiorno di Umberto di Savoia in Terra Santa rimangono anche dei volumi a stampa e otto album fotografici. Alcuni fotoreportage documentano gli incontri ufficiali del suo viaggio; altri materiali gli vengono donati e raffigurano architetture e monumenti di quei territori.

Nel 2021, mentre veniva aperta la mostra “Storie dal mondo in Castello”, iniziavano le attività di conservazione, digitalizzazione e catalogazione di 43 album e serie fotografiche custodite nel palazzo, nell’ambito del progetto “Storie di scatti, memorie di luoghi. Connessioni fotografiche al Castello di Racconigi”, promosso dalla Direzione regionale Musei Piemonte e dalla Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea del Ministero della cultura. È possibile sfogliare digitalmente le raccolte fotografiche collegandosi a questo link.
Le informazioni scientifiche sugli album digitalizzati sono inoltre reperibili sul Catalogo Generale dei Beni Culturali.

 

IMAGES FROM THE WORLD IN THE CASTLE

Printed volumes and eight photo albums also remain of Umberto di Savoia’s stay in Holy Land. Some photo-reportages document the official meetings of his trip; other materials were donated to him and depict architecture and monuments in those territories.

In 2021, as the exhibition “Stories from the World in the Castle” opened, work began on the preservation, digitization, and cataloging of 43 photo albums and series held in the palace, as part of the project “Stories of shots, memories of places. Photographic connections at the Castello di Racconigi”, promoted by the Regional Directorate of Piedmont Museums and the General Directorate of Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture. It is now possible to browse the photographic collections digitally by connecting to this website.
The scientific information on the digitized albums is also available on the General Catalog of Cultural Heritage.
